The aim of our actions is that local coal landfill be brought to a satisfactory condition. Not endanger for health of local comunity and further pollutes environment.
Open letter of residents Catici
Catici is settlements located in the municipality of Kakanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina for years is exposed to direct pollution from the coal landfill which is situated near to the village.
As is well known in the coal landfill Catici was made after the settlement, with which it borders, but to date have not solved the burning questions about the placement - the deposit of coal, large amounts of dust (especially during the summer and during the windy period) and the noise that literally takes 24 hours day.
Our requirements are primarily related to our fundamental rights to live in conditions worthy of man.
First of all the competent from the community Kakanj seek the convening thematic sessions of the municipal council Kakanj on the occasion of the issue which will be attended by representatives of local residents and representatives of the relevant Electric Power BH.
Our only requirements are related to specific solutions rehabilitation of coal waste that would satisfy primarily the basic standards of protection of the environment and people and as the years violated.
Therefore, we ask:
- Repairing concrete walls surrounding the landfill, which should be in accordance with the amount of coal which is disposed
- Regular watering of coal in the landfill by utilizing the water cannon
- Sound insulation of the plant due to unbearable noise
While the above requirements are not taken into consideration as well as the appropriate solution we will be forced to block road again and again.
